I’m looking for some guidance on the diet recommendations in Ayurveda for Vitiligo. I’ve recently started exploring Ayurveda treatment for vitiligo, and many Ayurvedic doctors say that diet plays a major role in controlling the spread of patches.
From what I’ve understood so far, vitiligo treatment in Ayurveda focuses on balancing the doshas (mainly Pitta and Kapha) and improving gut health. But the diet part still feels confusing, so I wanted to ask the community:
What foods should I avoid?
Some sources say to avoid:
Sour foods like curd, lemon, tomato
Seafood, especially fish
Excess salt
Junk/fermented foods
Is this accurate?
What foods are recommended?
I’ve read that people following Ayurvedic Treatment for Vitiligo often include:
Green leafy vegetables
Black gram, buttermilk (confusing because curd is avoided!)
Turmeric, neem, and herbal infusions
Seasonal fruits except sour ones
